Shining Wang, General Manager

Shining is currently a senior pursuing a double major in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Chinese Studies. With her degrees, she aspires to work abroad in several exotic countries. Alongside working for Par Excellence, Shining recently worked as the Director of Marketing for the University of Houston Homecoming Week and will be also assisting in the production of the Annual NACE Wedding Trends Event and Gourmet Night 2014 both next year in April.

Vi-An Nguyen, Events Coordinator

Vi-An is currently a senior at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management. In addition to being the Events Coordinator for Par Excellence, Vi-An also holds the position as Second Vice President of Membership for the NACE student board. She was also the Culinary Logistics Director for the Sugar Land Wine and Food Affair in 2014, and will also be heading up the culinary recruitment position for the 2015 event. She has also volunteered for Gourmet Night, the Bridal Extravaganza and Bridal Soiree. Besides spending most of her time at the Hilton college, Vi-An also enjoys camping, hiking and swimming in her spare time.

Giang Dang, Assistant Events Coordinator

Giang Dang is a junior at the Hilton College, and her emphasis is in Lodging and Sales and Marketing. She is currently the Assistant Events Coordinator of Par Excellence and was the 2014 Wedding Trends Co-Chair. She is a Resident Advisor at Calhoun Lofts. She hopes to one day travel the world and enjoy all the great cuisines.

Ashlyn Templeton, Controller

Ashlyn is a senior who plans to graduate in December. She is majoring in Hotel and Restaurant Management with a minor in accounting. She is also part of the honors college at the University of Houston. In addition to Par Excellence, she is very active in many organizations and events on campus. Ashlyn’s ideal job is revenue management with an ultimate goal of owning a hotel of her own. She is very interested in finance and hopes  to utilize her knowledge in her future career.

Quinn Farah, Internal Marketing Director

Quinn is a senior at the University of Houston, graduating in the Spring of 2015. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management with a Minor in Marketing. In addition to being the Internal Marketing Director for Par Excellence, he has served as the Assistant Controller and Assistant Marketing Director. Furthermore, he was the PR & Promotions Manager for the 2014 Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair. He is also involved in CMAA and Eta Sigma Delta. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, traveling, and scuba diving. He volunteers weekly at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Jessica Cline, External Marketing Director

Jessica is a junior at the Hilton College and plans to graduate in the Spring of 2016. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in Hotel and Restaurant Management with a focus in events and a minor in beverage management and marketing. Alongside her participation in Par Excellence, she is involved with the Texas Restaurant Association and various volunteer opportunities. For leisure, she enjoys traveling, playing the ukulele, learning new languages, yoga, and long-boarding.

Karla Acosta, Human Resources Manager

Karla is currently a junior at the University of Houston, as an Honors student, she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management. In addition to being the Human Resources and Office Manager for Par Excellence, she is also the Assistant Food Safety Specialist for the Department of Public Safety at the University of Houston. In her free time, Karla enjoys traveling, CrossFit, and watching Netflix.

Elyssa Davee, Training Director

Elyssa is a senior graduating in May with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant Management and a minor in Beverage Marketing and Management. After graduating she plans to start work in the alcohol industry, preferably something in wine. In addition to being a training director for Par Excellence, Elyssa also works at winery in the Houston area.

Fabienne Knecht-Seier, Training Director

Fabienne is a currently a junior who plans to graduate in the spring of 2015. She is currently attending two schools in order to finish her Bachelors of Hotel and Restaurant Management in a total of two years. In addition to her huge amount of classes she is a member of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals Organization, is planning on participating in Gourmet Night again this year, and works at the Cougar Grounds Coffee Shop at the Conrad N. Hilton College.

Jasmine Mendoza, Uniform & Equipment Director

Jasmine Mendoza is currently a Junior pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management. She is also a member of the Honors College at the University of Houston. Along with Par Excellence, she is involved in other student organizations such as the Club Manager's Association of America, and enjoys participating in various community service events as a UH Terry Scholar. Jasmine plans to pursue a career in restaurants and the food and beverage industry. For now, she enjoys being involved, reading in her spare time, and traveling.
